Architeco’s proposal for reworking part of the waterfront at Dunoon, to encourage more watercraft to visit and readdress the public square, has been shortlisted in the Future Towns Competition.Dunoon view afterAdjacent to the town square and the high street, the chosen site is a key part of the waterfront but is currently given over to car parking, disconnecting the town, pedestrians and cyclists from the waterfront.

In its place, we have created a flexible public space dedicated to leisure and existing events currently happening in Dunoon. This new urban space aims to connect people of all ages from the high street through the square and to the Clyde.

By creating a welcoming gateway right in the heart of the town, the waterfront of Dunoon is revitalised for the benefit of people and is just a sail away from anywhere along the Clyde.close upThe winner will be selected by public vote during Scotland’s Towns Week – you can vote here: http://www.scotlandstowns.org/future_town_design_comp before the 26th of this month.

All the shortlisted entries will be on display at Paisley Town Hall from November 21-26 as part of the Scotland’s Towns conference.
