The Coppice House is designed to allow the adjacent woodland to provide the full heating and hot water energy requirements of the house and occupants.Coppice 1

Although the house will be near Zero Carbon, the building uses sympathetic design and materials in common with the neighbouring existing buildings.

The dwelling will be super-insulated to Passivhaus standard, including high performance doors and triple glazed windows. An extremely high level of air tightness is aimed for and a heat recovery ventilation system will be installed.

Planning Approval was granted under Perth & Kinross Council’s Sustainable Living policies, with a detailed land management scheme included as part of the overall design. Results of energy monitoring of the house will be provided to the Council on an annual basis.
